The Final Fifth Framework Meeting at Liverpool

September saw IRS bring their co-ordination of the European 5th Framework activities to a close with the final scheduled meeting that was held in the delightful City of Liverpool. The 2-day Contractor's Meeting combined the excellent meeting and social venues of a vibrant Liverpool City Centre against the superb backdrop of the famed River Mersey and Liverpool waterfront.

The Meeting was scheduled to finalise project outcomes and allow dissemination of information to the Group as a whole, with all contractors meetings throughout the term of the project being reviewed and a series of outcomes and best practice documents being put forward. The first day was finished of with the Partners being shown some of the delights the City of Liverpool has to offer as they took up the option to go on Liverpool's DUKW Tour on a WWII amphibious craft that has been restored and takes visitors on a tour of Liverpool before taking the plunge into the icy waters of the Mersey. A good time was had by all prior to evening dinner at the famous Pan American Club in the Albert Dock.

Day 2 concerned development opportunities and information dissemination possibilities through web-driven means, namely the Group website: www.radius-group.org. The rest of the day was taken up by expression of interest and preparation for the 6th Framework EU Project before special sub-groups broke off to finalise their own projects and discussions.
