IRS complete successful 29^th annual radiation protection supervisors course.

March 15^th-17^th saw Integrated Radiological Services complete another successful radiation protection supervisors training event.  The three day course addressed key regulatory and practical activities required under IRR99 as well as all aspects of IRMER in the context of diagnostic radiology.

Delegates from across the UK attended and contributed to a range of case study activities designed to prepare them for common radiation protection activities.  IRS speakers were complemented by impressive keynote guest talks from accreditation standards and inspectorate personnel, namely Ethna Green of UKAS (presenting holistic imaging quality standards in the form of the ISAS scheme) and Michael Nettleton, Principle Inspector of the Health and Safety Executive.  Unique insights, tales of aspirations and woes were presented to the audience, all of whom were very keen to be involved in discussions over the three day training session.

The course concluded with a radiation protection quiz and feedback session, allowing delegates to share their learning experiences with the course organisers and prepare them for return to their various departments.
