We are proud to help keep your people, patients and workplace safe.

Our Dosimetry Services

IRS offer a wide range of Personal and Environmental Radiation Monitoring devices that can measure the effective and equivalent doses received by persons exposed to ionising radiations. Monitoring involves the assessment for Beta, Gamma and Neutron radiation. Increasingly, we are also helping our customers monitor radon concentrations in their workplace.

Our flexible and competitively-priced personnel monitoring service can supply monitors to be worn for periods of one, two or three months at a time.  Monitors can be supplied continuously, periodically or on a one-off basis.  All monitoring services come with the ability to view your dose reports online and are approved by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

IRS provide a fully administered dosimetry service, all that you are required to do is notify us of who needs to be monitored and ensure that your dosimeters are returned after use and we will take care of the rest.

For more information about how our Dosimetry services work in detail, we have created a Customer Guide and Frequently Asked Questions section for this website.

Technology

IRS provides Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) dosimeters, Thermo-Luminescent dosimeters (TLD) and direct-reading electronic dosimeters, with whole body or extremity monitoring available as required.

Electronic dosimeters are particularly useful when monitoring staff for a limited period of time, i.e. during pregnancy, or in the event that more frequent dose readings may be required.

We also supply passive radon detection monitors. These monitors utilise passive alpha-track detection technology and can monitor atmospheric radon concentrations in the workplace.
