The meeting was organised jointly by the IPEM Radiation Protection and Nuclear Medicine Special Interest Groups and was held at the Austin Court Conference Centre, Birmingham on 19th February 2014.
The meeting was attended by approximately 100 people from throughout the whole UK and involved 15 presentations; 3 invited talks and 12 submitted presentations covering a wide variety of topics of practical interest to radiation protection of both patients and staff in nuclear medicine.

A member of IRS staff, Matt Ward, presented his experiences following the inadvertent removal of radioactive waste material from a hospital site that had received a patient previously treated with therapeutic radioiodine. A copy of his presentation is attached.
